Bedroq is proud to congratulate our partner, Andy Petty (Cumbria Constabulary), on being named a finalist in the “Collaboration in the Furthering of Digital, Data, Science and Technology” category at the NPCC Innovation and Digital Awards 2025.
Chief Constable Jeremy Vaughan, NPCC Lead for Science and Innovation, said:
The NPCC Innovation and Digital Summit Awards celebrate the creativity and dedication driving modern policing forward.
Across the country, officers and staff are using science, technology and new ways of thinking to solve complex problems and deliver better outcomes for the public.
By recognising this work, we not only showcase the best of policing innovation but also inspire others to explore new ideas, embrace evidence, and continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
Andy’s nomination highlights his outstanding work in promoting collaboration across UK policing and industry partnerships – particularly his efforts to openly demonstrate the possibilities of a fully-managed control room and network. Their control room exemplifies how advanced video analytics and resilient infrastructure can enhance situational awareness and operational effectiveness across one of the UK’s most geographically challenging rural policing areas.
‘Within the first two months of us going live with the system, we’ve found that it’s paid for itself in the time we’ve saved.’
Carl Patrick, Chief Superintendent, Cumbria Constabulary
In collaboration with Cumbria Constabulary – policing the fourth largest geographic area in England and Wales – Bedroq delivered a fully-managed, cloud-based CCTV and video analytics system, giving officers access to high-quality, remotely-accessible footage and powerful analytics tools that have significantly accelerated investigations, saved hundreds of hours of time, and improved public safety outcomes.
‘We’ve saved thousands of hours of time already, and accelerated investigations. We’ve used it in rape cases, murders, and it’s been a real key tool for the investigation teams.’ – Carl Patrick, Chief Superintendent, Cumbria Constabulary.
Bedroq is honoured to have supported this work, helping to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative technology solutions that strengthen policing capabilities and public safety.
We extend our congratulations to Andy and all the finalists who are driving innovation across UK policing.
