Bedroq Sentinel – Our reflections the 2026 Working Group
Last week we hosted Bedroq Sentinel 2026, our Policing Video Analytics & Live Facial Recognition (LFR) Working Group, at Greater Manchester Police (GMP) Force HQ. The day brought forces and agencies from across the UK back together to share operational experience, compare notes on deployments at very different stages of maturity, and look at where video analytics and LFR are heading next.
Our thanks again go to Greater Manchester Police for hosting us, to every speaker who gave up time from an already full diary to prepare and present, and to the delegates who made the discussion as open and useful as it was.
As in 2025, the aim was to facilitate genuine knowledge sharing, with demonstrations of what’s possible with the technology, and the feedback suggests we did just that:
“I found all aspects of the Bedroq Sentinel beneficial. As a force at the start of our journey with Bedroq, it was great to hear real world examples. It also provided the opportunity to engage with staff from Bedroq/Milestone and have any of our questions answered.”
Highlights from the day
The keynote speaker line-up took us from live deployments already supporting operations and an update from a force a year further into its journey, to the current position on both static and live facial recognition and an account of how analytics supported a serious investigation. Speakers were open about the development of their use cases, as well as the lessons learned getting to where they are today. Delegates repeatedly picked this out as a standout takeaway from the day.
“Speakers who were able to articulate pitfalls they have had to overcome and the evolution of their use cases. This was the case with multiple of the speakers which was good to see.”
The practical gains of Bedroq Seek were clearly demonstrated throughout the day, particularly around the time saved against manual review of material:
“Usage scenarios on how the product is used and the speed of the software’s analysis. How it allows investigations to progress at a much greater speed compared to manual reviewing of material.”
We closed out the day with a Q&A session with our expert panel of speakers, followed by drinks and dinner that gave people the chance to carry on conversations started earlier in the day.

Planning for the next Bedroq Sentinel is already underway, and we will share dates once they are confirmed. Our commitment has not changed: keep these working groups open, practical, and collaborative, so UK policing can adopt video analytics and live facial recognition responsibly, while seeing real operational benefits.
