What we’re looking for
This role is ideal for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer with at least 10 years of networking experience. The role involves a 90% focus on project work and 10% handling escalations from Bedroq’s Service Desk and Network Operations teams.
Key responsibilities include building, maintaining, and enhancing network infrastructure while supporting monitoring and management platforms across on-premises/private cloud, Bedroq Cloud (VMware), and Azure.
As Bedroq operates across UK and Philippines time zones, so the candidate must be self-disciplined, proactive, and capable of problem-solving independently. Strong communication skills are essential to lead technical discussions with customers and keep stakeholders informed on project progress.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in networking with a strong focus on customer-facing roles.
- Extensive experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
- Proven ability to translate business and technical requirements into project deliverables.
- Experience working in project teams delivering complex, medium-to-large-scale IT projects.
Technical Expertise
- Networking Technologies:
- Multi-vendor experience (HPE/Aruba, Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, Teltonika)
- Advanced IP routing (OSPF, ISIS, BGP, PBR)
- Switching and wireless technologies
- Firewalls, proxies, VPNs, and security solutions
- Overlay/virtual networking principles
- Load balancing, traffic segregation, and network resilience
- Cloud Networking Expertise:
- Microsoft Azure networking (Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, Load Balancers, NSGs, VPN Gateway)
- VMware networking (NSX, VCF, private cloud environments)
- General IT Knowledge:
- Windows & Linux OS installation/configuration.
- Administration and configuration of server applications and security controls.
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700) (strongly preferred)
- Certifications in networking/security (e.g., CCNP, NSE 4-7, PCNSE, CWNP) are advantageous.
About the role
This position involves designing and deploying physical and virtual networks, delivering new and modified services to customers, and providing third-line support and fault resolution. The role requires hands-on expertise in network migrations, proof-of-concept testing, and multi-vendor networking and security technologies.
The Senior Network Engineer will work closely with project managers and internal teams, collaborating directly with customers to address their business needs. Excellent communication skills are essential to lead technical discussions, manage customer expectations, and ensure smooth project execution.
This role is office-based to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing with the Service Desk and Network Operations teams. Attention to detail is crucial to ensure high-quality solutions and clear communication internally and with customers while resolving issues.
Further Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as the technical representative of the company, liaising with customers before and after sales.
- Manage the customer experience on projects, within time and budget, including appropriate risk management and change control.
- Ensure change control is handled thoroughly to maintain high levels of customer service.
- Provide feedback and approval for new product development.
- Coordinate with hardware and software partners for project deliverables or incident resolution.
- Collaborate with the team to resolve incidents, maintaining clear communication with customers.
